Manual MuscleTherapy

Manual Muscle Therapy San Jose, CA

Promoting Wellness in Patients Through Manual Muscle Therapy

Manual muscle therapy can be added to chiropractic treatment in order to return the body to a state of wellness. A chiropractor treats the musculoskeletal system with non-invasive adjustments of the spine. Manual muscle therapy is also a non-invasive treatment for pain that consists of a combination of therapeutic exercises and muscle work in order to increase muscle and bone strength. The treatments complement each other by working hand-in-hand to return and maintain the body to a healthy condition.

Wellness Through Physical Therapy
Choosing a chiropractor who has had training in manual muscle therapy is essential to helping yourself to a quicker recovery from an injury or accident. The two techniques work together to relieve pain associated with many physical conditions and ailments.

Manual muscle therapy and chiropractic treatments are surgery-free and drug-free. Both work to relieve pain normally caused by arthritis, injury and other conditions that generate pain in the body. Additionally, both therapies work through hands-on procedures with various treatments that involve patient participation both during the treatment and through exercises at home.

Dr. Forster is skilled at various procedures used to relieve pain and help gain body strength. A number of treatment options are available including trigger point therapy, massage therapy, interferential/TENS current electrotherapy, ultrasounds, x-rays, spine and extremity alignments, exercise and joint mobilization procedures. Active Release Technique (ART) is one specified area of therapy she concentrates on to treat sports and other soft tissue injuries.

Our San Jose Chiropractor Uses Manual Muscle Therpay for Rehabilitation Treatment

When used together, manual muscle therapy and chiropractic treatments can effectively help the patient recover more quickly, and are sometimes needed in addition to comprehensive treatments that physicians perform. The combined therapies can offer more options to the patient and broaden the scope of both practices to offer a more aggressive and natural approach to healing during rehabilitation.

Treatment at our San Jose clinic is designed to diagnose problems through both radiology and physical exams. Our chiropractor is trained to focus on the whole body and can design a rehabilitation program combined with chiropractic techniques designed to treat muscle spasms, arthritis, sprains, musculoskeletal problems and post-surgical cases. Treatment helps to build strength, endurance and flexibility.

Conditions that could benefit from manual muscle therapy treatment include herniated discs, frozen shoulder, plantar faschitis and chronic pain caused from various injuries. Reducing inflammation, improving muscle flexibility and toning through exercise can help return the body to state of wellness and restore physical functional ability throughout life.

A chiropractor trained with manual muscle therapy techniques is educated and skilled in proper methods of rehabilitation. Working closely with chiropractor with manual muscle therapy skills, designs a rehabilitation program geared to the individual patient. Knowing that each person is different in patterns of movement, habits and body types, Dr. Forster monitors and corrects problems based on the individual.

Review By Our Satisfied Patient

  • "Dr. Jen helped me fully recover from a car accident when my primary care physician, long-term physical therapy, and therapeutic massage had no benefit at all. I've had really mixed experiences with chiropractors in the past (mostly unhelpful), but Dr. Jen knows techniques that were very effective and restored full range of motion to my neck without pain. I am beyond grateful and have referred one of my best friends to her; the friend is just as delighted as I am. In addition to being uniquely effective, Dr. Jen provides the perfect balance between nurturing human warmth and professional efficiency. I think she's amazing."

  • An Apple a Day . . .

What is so good about an apple? Is it the color, ranging from ruby red to pale pink? Is it the crunch? The sweetness?
